1000 Paper Cranes

The 1000 Paper Cranes Series draws inspiration from the Japanese tradition of folding 1,000 cranes to grant a wish. Born from a deeply personal journey during my daughter’s illness, the practice became a meditative way to find hope and heal. Collaging leftover origami paper onto canvas and painting cranes symbolized both fragility and resilience, reflecting the delicate balance of life and relationships. Over time, the cranes evolved into a universal metaphor for human connection—the strength that grounds us when life’s unpredictability shifts our course. This series celebrates the beauty of our shared fragility and interconnectedness.
